The Chemical Composition Analysis Center (CCAC) of Central South University (CSU) originated from the Analytical Laboratory of Central-South China Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in 1957, which has a history of nearly 60 years. It is based on the National Demonstration Center for Chemical Experimental Chemistry & Chemical Engineering Education. In 2015, the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (CCCE) integrated the resources and instruments of the whole college and established a public service platform for analysis and detection to provide a full range of public detection services for scientific research and society. CCAC is equipped with an administrative office, three analysis and detection laboratories and microbiology laboratory, with an area of about 700m2. The total value of the existing analytical instruments and equipments in CCAC is about 15 million yuan, including ICP-MS, ICP, GC-MS, SEM, TOC, HPLC, GC, IC, XRF, AAS, UV-Vis, etc.
CCAC is supported by the Analytical Science Department of CCCE, including one chief scientist, one executive deputy director, one technical director, two quality directors and more than 30 technicians. There are 7 doctoral supervisors and 11 professors in the Department of Analytical Science.
